Nineveh and Total Eclipse of Sun

A Warning to Repent

Designer (23)

On April 8, 2024 there will be a total eclipse of the Sun in the US. All 48 states will have at least a partial eclipse. Is this a message from God.

I was reminded of the story of Jonah who warned the people of Nineveh of the pending destruction if they did not repent. Sounds like the world today; sounds like America in particular. So, I did a search to see if there were towns in the US with the name of Nineveh. You would think it would be unlikely, but to my surprise there are a number of towns with this name.

How many towns in the US have the name of Nineveh?

Multiple States: Unincorporated communities named Nineveh exist in Indiana, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Uncertain Number: The exact number of these communities is difficult to pinpoint due to their unincorporated status

Notice that these states are expected to have a total eclipse of the Sun (in some part of the state). Is this a warning? I have been trying to warn people through this little blog and there are others, much better than me, who have a bigger website with more followers trying to warn people.

Could the symbolism be that the Son of God is hiding His face from us?

Here is what the Bible says about Nineveh.

In the Bible, Nineveh is an ancient city situated on the Tigris River. It was founded by Nimrod and is first mentioned in Genesis 10:11, which states that Nimrod “went forth into Assyria and built Nineveh.” Over time, Nineveh grew in population and status, eventually becoming the flourishing capital of the Assyrian Empire, which was the world’s first superpower.

The biblical depiction of Nineveh is multifaceted:

Book of Jonah: In the book of Jonah, Nineveh is described as a huge city—so vast that it would take three days to walk across. However, the text does not provide specific details about the city’s evil beyond the king’s command for citizens to turn away “from the violence that is in their hands” (Jonah 3:8)2. The primary focus here is on Nineveh’s need for repentance.

Repentance and Mercy: Jonah, the reluctant prophet, was sent to Nineveh with a message of impending destruction. The people of Nineveh responded by repenting and turning away from their wickedness. The king himself arose from his throne, covered himself in sackcloth, and issued a proclamation for repentance (Jonah 3:6-10)3. This act of repentance led to God’s mercy sparing the city.

Violence and Sin: While the specific sins of Nineveh are not explicitly detailed in the book of Jonah, the text does mention that the city’s greatest sin was violence. Violence often stems in this day and age of: the abortions, the jab, many medical practices, needless wars, criminal violence and more.

Nahum’s prophecy against Nineveh also emphasizes its sinfulness, describing it as a city of blood, lies, and plunder (Nahum 3:1, 3:19).

In summary, Nineveh holds significance in the Bible as the capital city of Assyria—a long-time enemy of Israel. Despite its wickedness, the people’s repentance led to God’s mercy, demonstrating the possibility of redemption even for great cities to repent.

I don’t see Biden repenting, unlike the king in Nineveh, but will enough people repent. If not, we are certain for more destruction until Christ returns with His mighty army.
