Hurricane Irma and God’s Promises

Hurricane Irma and God’s Promises

Hurricane Irma is coming!

When people think about the weather they don’t think about God. People think that God has nothing to do with it. When people live through bad weather, that is when the praying comes about. But God knows what is in your heart. The only time God comes into the equation such as in the case of Hurricane Irma – which is now in Florida at the time of this writing – it’s the insurance companies. They have a clause in many home owners’ insurance saying, “Not covered by acts of God.” Not that they believe in God but this is the wording they use to get out of paying.

Anyhow, with you being a Bible student (which I hope you are), we know that God sends bad weather when His people are disobedient. And this is what America certainly is today.

We Know that God used bad weather in many places in the Bible. This is done in order for His People to turn back to Him – specifically, by living by the Laws, Statues and Judgements. If we look up the work “rain” in the Bible, it appears appears 87 times. Some verses it’s good, others is used as a metaphor, while others relates to bad weather. Examples are:

Deu. 32.2

1 Kings 8.35

1 Kings 17.1

Genesis 7.4

Genesis 7 is talking about Noah’s Flood, of course, which was a curse upon the world.

Now, some people – who are into conspiracies – will tell you that this hurricane, as well as Hurricane Harvey, was created by man using scalar waves, chemtrails, HAARP and who knows what else. While this may be true, what is also true is that God does use His enemies to chastise us. In regards to the weather, in the Bible it was done by Yahweh God. But now that mankind has been able to manipulate the weather – which the U.S. Government admits – God just allows them to do it. The end result is that we, as a people, need chastisement. If we are in obedience to His Laws, and the godless people who are in charge try to manipulate the weather, you can be sure that God will not allow it; that it would be the destruction of them. But this is not the case – as least not now. For things to change, we are told in the Bible that we have to repent and turn to Him. Which means to live as He wants us to live. Until then, the Edomites will continue to get away with what they are doing.

But as Noah was faithful and pure in his generation, God will protect those who are living through this terrible hurricane that is now pounding Florida.

Preparation is one thing that most people don’t do. As Christians we should be prepared; we are given warning signs of things to come. When people wait until the last minute to evacuate, when they don’t have enough gas in their cars when they do go on the road, when they don’t have enough water or food, what kind of a husband is that? As head of the household, he is to do this. If a family is without a husband, then it’s up to the woman or to the oldest male child – if he is old enough.

We read in 1 Timothy 5.8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he had denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”

May Yahweh God’s People, repent, turn from their ways and WAIT on Him, so He can heal our land. Amen.
